Boundary Similkameen MLA hoping that Sunday was the last time change
We've sprung forward for another year...and the Boundary Similkameen MLA is hoping we'll stay this way.
Linda Larsen is reintroducing a Private Members Bill to get rid of Daylight Savings Time, and keep the time at Spring forward year round.
She says people want the extra daylight in the summer months, and there's no real reason to change in the Fall.
She says there's a lot of medical research that's been done that shows it upsets the system, particularly for seniors and children.
There are also more accidents both on the roads and in the workplace after the time shift.
This will be the third time she's introducing the bill, initially the motion came to UBCM from the City of Grand Forks.
Meanwhile the states to the south are also going through the same process, and the Premier has said he's had conversations with some states about the possibility of jointly moving the change forward.
