Busy Canada Day long weekend for the Trail RCMP


Trail RCMP were busy over the Canada Day long weekend, responding to 62 calls for service.

Check Stops were set up in six different locations, resulting in four 90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions for drivers that were found to be under the influence of alcohol, there were also some minor traffic violations.

On Friday, RCMP received a report of a vehicle with Alberta plates travelling through the area, with several persons of interest.

A stop led to the arrest of a 16 year old, and a 19 year old man from Edmonton, who had warrants out for their arrest.

The older of the two is in Rossland court today.

RCMP also responded to several collisions on local highways involving wildlife.
