Busy long weekend expected on local highways

It will be a busy long weekend on area roads, with a lot of people taking road trips.

ICBC's Christine Kirby says that can lead to more crashes.

She says despite the fact winter is supposed to be over, road conditions can still be challenging, with rapidly changing weather, snow on the passes and even flooding in spots.

On average, 62 people are injured in 310 crashes every year in the Southern Interior over the Easter long weekend.

Provincially an average of four people are killed and 650 injured in 2,300 crashes.
