Castlegar and District Community Complex Enhancements Project voting starts this week

Advanced voting starts this week leading up to the Referendum June 23rd for the Castlegar and District Community Complex Enhancements Project.

Manager of Recreation Jim Crockett says there are two parts to the question, the first asking to borrow 22 million of the 32 million dollar project, the commission has committed to raising 10 million in grants.

He says there have been a lot of conversations in the community, they've done open houses, and a number of services.

There's extensive enhancements proposed, including a rebuild of the fitness centre, enhancements of the aquatic centre,  improvements to the existing arena,  and the addition of a 2nd sheet of ice so the Pioneer can be closed....It's reaching end of life

Advanced voting is tomorrow from 8 to 8 at the complex, and next Wednesday, with the Referendum June 23rd
