Castlegar weather slightly cooler with more rainfall than normal

A look back at the weather in Castlegar in September shows the mean monthly temperature slightly cooler than normal, and the total monthly rainfall 42 percent greater than normal.

Ron Lakeman at the Southeast Fire Centre Weather Services says it was the first month with a greater than normal amount of precipitation since April, despite the fact the first week of the month continued with the summers drought like conditions.

There was also a daily maximum temperature of 31.4 degrees set on the 7th.

After that the weather became far more eventful and cooler for a couple of weeks, with showers and thundershowers.

The most significant rainfall was 14 mm's falling the nights of the 13th and 22nd.
