Citizens on Patrol will be up and running soon in Trail
The City of Trail is hiring a coordinator for the new Citizens on Patrol Program.
Councillor Sandy Santori says council has approved a Business Case Proposal, and they've committed 45-thousand dollars for a coordinator.
He says the goal is to complement what the RCMP does, with more eyes out on the street.
It's a component of the Crime and Safety Task Force.
They're going to be putting a call out to the general public to be a part of Citizens on Patrol.
Meanwhile he says they've now selected the 3 members of the general public to sit on the Task Force, and he expects they'll have their first meeting within the next 30 days.
