Community Complex referendum likely to go ahead in Castlegar

It looks like there will be a referendum in Castlegar when it comes to  potential enhancements to the Castlegar and District Community Complex.

The latest results indicate that almost two thirds of the community would support the full package of enhancements that were previously presented as part of the consultation process, which would include a 2nd sheet of ice at the complex.

The survey asked area residents if they would support Option B enhancements if asked to in a referendum.

Out of almost 1,200 households that completed the survey, 62% said they would support Option B.

The findings are considered reliable and representative of residents in the area.

The form and timing of a potential referendum will be considered by the Recreation Commission at their next meeting.
