The province has announced 12 new electric vehicle charging sites, and several more on the way.

Minister Claire Trevena says they're trying to make it convenient for people who drive electric vehicles to travel across the province.

It's part of the Clean BC Plan, Making electric vehicles more affordable, investing in charging stations and shifting to renewable fuels.

Completed sites in the Southern Interior include the Anarchist rest area east of Osoyoos on Highway 3, and the Kootenay Bay Ferry Landing on Highway 3A, near Crawford Bay.

Sites going in this summer include the Kidd Creek Rest Area on Highway 3, east of Creston.
