Dates set for basin meetings when it comes to Columbia River Treaty Negotiations
The province has now set dates when it comes to meeting with residents on the Columbia River Treaty negotiations.
There's a series of meetings to engage with and update communities and First Nations about the recently launched negotiations on the future of the Columbia River Treaty.
The upcoming meetings are a continuation of a process that began in 2011.
The meetings will provide an update on negotiations between Canada and the United States, and host discussions on community interests that should be considered during negotiations.
Meetings start next Monday in Meadow Creek, with a meeting Wednesday June 13th in Creston at the Complex, one in Castlegar June 14th at the Castlegar Complex, and in Nelson June 15th at the Nelson Rod and Gun Club.
The final one in our area is June 21st in Nakusp at the Sports Complex, they're all from 6 to 9pm.
The first round of negotiations took place in Washington last week.
