December was mild and wet in Castlegar

December 2018 was unseasonably mild, and unseasonably wet.

Weather Specialist Ron Lakeman says the mean monthly temperature was two degrees warmer than normal, and the total amount of precipitation was 100-percent of normal.

When you look at the whole year, the mean annual temperature was 9.2 degrees, which is half a degree warmer than normal.

The warmest year on record was in 2015, which the mean monthly temperature was 10.2 degrees.

The 2018 total amount of precipitation was within 1 millimetre of the normal 751 mm's.
