dog bites and drug arrests part of Trail RCMP week
Trail RCMP are reminding dog owners to make sure their pets are secured on their property, after an incident in Fruitvale last week.
A 62 year old man was bit while walking along the sidewalk in the area of Hillcrest Avenue, receiving minor injuries to his chest..
The owner took responsibility for the incident.
Police say Owners may be criminally investigated or face civil liability if they are found negligent when their animals causing personal injury or property damage.
Trail RCMP also arrested a 54 year old man after a case of mistaken identity.
An officer on routine patrol on Daniel Street in West Trail was flagged down by an intoxicated woman, mistaking the marked patrol vehicle for the vehicle being driven by an alleged drug dealer.
When a suspect arrived on scene a search of the suspect and vehicle led to the seizure of 4 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, and some Canadian currency.
Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Meanwhile 3 check stops in Trail Saturday led to several warnings for minor infractions, but none of the 150 drivers checked were found to be impaired by drugs or alcohol.
