Evacuation orders have gone out to 24-hundred people in the Boundary
An evacuation order has been expanded in the Boundary due to flooding concerns.
There are now over 11 hundred homes that have been evacuated, affecting close to 24-hundred people who live in the headwaters of the Granby, Kettle and West Kettle Rivers.
That includes homes in the Grand Forks area, as well as some in the Christina Lake area.
The RDKB says for anyone in the Boundary floodplain and especially in the Granby, all evacuation alerts have changed to evacuation orders today.
RDKB Corporate Information Officer Frances Maika says RCMP and Search and Rescue have been going door to door.
Evacuated residents are being asked to report to an Emergency Social Services Reception Centre at the
Midway Community Centre at 692 7th Avenue, Midway or the Grand Forks Curling Centre at 7230 21st Street, Grand Forks.
She says is important to register to receive emergency services including support and family reunification.
If you are unable to physically check in at a reception centre you can call the Emergency Operations Centre: 250-442-3628 or
