Fruitvale Livable Village Action Plan open house today

Selkirk Students and the Village of Fruitvale are working together on a Livable Village Action Plan.

2nd year Integrated Environmental Planning Program students will be looking for input on the villages goals and initiatives developed in their OCP.

Instructor Peter Holton says it's a great opportunity for students, and the village.

The plan addresses topics the village has identified as being important, with students looking at everything from the sewage treatment plant, and ecosystem health, to downtown redevelopment and design, and urban agriculture.

There's an open house tonight for students to prevent their Fruitvale Livable Action Plan, from 5 to 7 at Fruitvale Elementary.

Selkirk Integrated Environmental Planning students have a 17-year history of preparing pro bono plans for a variety of agency and interest group clients throughout the West Kootenay.
