Happy end to the search for a missing Warfield man

South Columbia Search and Rescue was called out to search for a missing 58 year old man in Warfield early yesterday morning.

He had wandered away from his care home and the search was considered high urgency due to the man's health issues.

He had gone quite some time without food or water and was not equipped to be outdoors for long periods of time.

The team responded quickly and with the help of Rossland and Nelson SAR they put 17 searchers out in the field.

A local Teck Firefighter had seen the missing man the day before, and thanks to a tip , they were able to locate the missing man.

He had found shelter in a dumpster at A&J Auto beside the Tunnel Pub.

Fortunately other than being dehydrated and hungry, he appeared to be in good health and in good spirits.
