ICBC and police forces are launching a safety campaign when it comes to pedestrians
ICBC is urging drivers to stay alert, especially during this time of year, when pedestrian-related collisions spike.
The insurance corporation says over 11-hundred pedestrians are injured in crashes between October and January, while 640 are injured between May and August.
Here in the Southern Interior, 270 crashes involve a pedestrian every year.
Factors such as distracted driving, failing to yield, and weather are key causes of these crashes, while less visibility during the darker winter months can also play a part.
