Increased enrollment likely in the Kootenay Columbia School District
The Kootenay Columbia School District is expecting increased enrollment when the school year starts up next week.
But at this point, Superintendent Bill Ford says they don't know how many new students they'll have.
He says there's been a lot of movement over the Summer, with new families moving to the district, and some families moving away.
In other news, Ford says they've worked with ICBC when it comes to the acid spills in Trail in the Spring.
All of their school buses were tested, and he says it looks like they'll be writing off 3 buses, but because the ministry approved the purchase of new buses for the district this year, they're ok to start the school year.
