Karen Hamling Appointed to IHA Board
A familiar face in West Kootenay Politics is now on the Interior Health Authority Board.
Karen Hamling served 4 terms as Mayor of Nakusp.
She also served many years at the Arrow Lakes Hospital, most of which spent as the Health Records Supervisor.
She's still also heavily involved in the community, with the Nakusp and Area Community Foundation, Music in the Park, and the Vice Chair of the Columbia River Treaty Local Governments committee among other groups.
Appointments are made by the province.
Board members work with health authority leadership to establish the organizations overall vision and to make sure there's appropriate community consultation.
Boards are responsible for the governance and oversight of health services in the province.
