It's been a busy season so far for the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society.

Operations Manager Stewart Spooner says they met with Trail Council this week to bring them up to speed on recent updates to trails, and plans for the future.

Operations Manager Stewart Spooner says they've been developing trails above the hospital and Miral Heights for several years including the new Aspen Loop Trail.

They're also going to be working on more trails above the hospital hill, now that the RDKB purchased land in the area.

He says the presentation they made to council was more around the larger potential trail developments in the area to give them a sense of where they could go.

But according to Spooner, to do the larger grander visions it does require a bunch of people to get behind it and think it's a good idea and put resources into it, so they wanted to put some of those ideas out there and see what sticks.

Meanwhile Spooner says they've just finished the 7 Summits Trail, after making improvements for the last 15 years.

Now it's all connected and they're going to be debuting it at their September Long Weekend Poker Ride.
