Kootenay Columbia Trails Society planning for the season
Another busy year planned for the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society.
Operations Manager Stewart Spooner says they get annual funding from the RDKB East End Services Committee and the City of Rossland.
Generally they use the funding to maintain existing trails, and they raise funds to build additional trails.
This year they're putting in a new trail in Fruitvale.
They found some crown land in Fruitvale, in the 9 mile area, they're going to be building a parking area and trail head, as well as a trail to a viewpoint.
They're also adding a new connector between Rossland and Red Mountain, with the Blue Elephant Trail connecting Red Top to Larrys.
