Montrose finances looking good

The Village of Montrose is looking good when it comes to finances.

CAO Larry Plotnikoff says they village has not debt at this point, and they do have reserve funds.

He says reserves are quite healthy for a village their size.

For this year, council approved bulking them up with money leftover from operations in 2016.

Some of that will go into reserves, as well as projects slated for 2017.

Some of the big projects this year include the Wastewater Treatment Plant Project.

They have federal and provincial government grants of 655-thousand dollars, with the village kicking in about 140-thousand dollars.

They're also going to be doing rehabilitation of the water reservoirs in the Fall, a 415-thousand dollar project.
