Motorcyclist loses his new bike, after putting only 20 km's on the odometer

It didn't take long for a local motorcyclist to lose his ride.

On Sunday, a member of the West Kootenay  Integrated Road Safety Unit came across a man driving his brand new Harley Davidson in excess of 127 km's an hour in an 80 km an hour zone on Highway 3A, near thrums.

Police say he was driving very aggressively and passing vehicles, and then sped up when police attempted to pull him over...he eventually pulled over without incident.

A breath sample of the 43 year old driver, allegedly found him to be impaired by alcohol.

The driver lost his license for 90 days , his motorcycle was impounded for 30 days, and he received a hefty fine for driving without due care.

The brand new Harley only had 20km's on the odometer.
