MP says affordability is hurting Nelson Small Businesses

Kootenay Columbia NDP MP Wayne Stetski says affordability is hurting Nelson Small Businesses.

He recently held a roundtable discussion with business owners, along with MLA Michelle Mungall and Nelson Mayor Deb Kozak.

While taxation and government red tape were cited as concerns, Stetski says there also were concerns around affordable housing, and a lack of accessible child care, as well as parking.

Stetski is going to be compiling a report for Ottawa based on feedback.

He says they're also looking for ways for all 3 levels of government to work together on things like affordable housing, and they're hoping to put out an annual list of grants for small businesses locally.
