Nelson Hydro EcoSave Program expanding to the rest of the RDCK in April
Nelson Hydro's EcoSave Program has been running for 7 years, encouraging homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient.
It's now going to be expanding to the rest of the RDCK sometime in April.
Program Coordinator Carmen Proctor says it's a simplified process for homeowners to have a home energy evaluation to determine what energy efficiency upgrades or retrofits can be done to reduce energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions, and to access current rebate offers.
She says on average people save 30 percent on their heating bills, and they also save money when it comes to renovations.
The new program will include BC Hydro and Fortis BC, it's also expected to offer energy coaching for renters and for those in apartments....information sessions will be held once the program is up and running around the RDCK.
