New Kootenay Wide Inter-Community Business Licenses under discussion
A new initiative in the Kootenay Boundary is making it's way through local councils.
This week Rossland Council passed the first 3 readings of the Kootenay Wide Inter-Community Business License Bylaw.
Mayor Kathy Moore says every municipality requires people to buy a license to legally work in the community, but in our area, contractors can work in several communities.
The new Kootenay wide license will include the Boundary and Kootenays, although you'll still have to buy a license in the main community you work in.
Moore says the initiative cuts down on red tape, and she expects it to increase compliance.
