New Recovery Transition Program expected to help Grand Forks residents
Premier John Horgan says survivors of disaster will have new supports through a new ``first of its kind'' program in B-C.
Horgan made the announcement yesterday in Grand Forks, where he says emergency social services supports were set to expire for some residents in seven to 10 days.
He says through the new Recovery Transition Program, developed by the Canadian Red Cross and Emergency Management B-C, those residents will see support extended by 30-day intervals up to a maximum of 90 days.
He says residents will receive up to 28-hundred in financial assistance to help cover living expenses.
