Patient Advisory Committee being set up in the Kootenay Boundary

The future of health care in the Kootenay Boundary will be up for discussion with a new Patient Advisory Committee being set up.

Joanne Tisserand is the Transformation Lead for the Kootenay Boundary.

She says the committee, made up of patients, an IH rep, and a rep from Kootenay Boundary Family Practice, will be advising the Collaborative Services Committee.

The goal is to to find ways to support the creation of an integrated system of care at the local level.

She says it's important patients have a voice because they're the ones who are receiving care, and trying to navigate the system, and they've heard loud and clear how difficult it is to navigate their system right now.

They're looking for patients to get involved in the committee, head to www.patientvoicesbc.ca for details.
