Pharmacy and Ambulatory Care Project closer to reality at KBRH

Interior Health has released a Request for Proposal for a detailed design of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Pharmacy and Ambulatory Care Project.

The design RFP includes managing architectural and engineering services for the  project. 

The new Ambulatory Care Wing will be built above the expanded emergency department.

Improvements will also be made to the existing ambulatory care space, as well as upgrades to the cast clinic, and the pharmacy being tripled in size.

The design contract is expected to be awarded in April with construction starting in 2020

The total cost of project is $38.8 million, with the provincial government committing $23.3 million.

The West Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital District approved a $15.5-million contribution to the project last week.
