Potential fires a concern on Antennae Trail in Montrose
A couple of residents spoke with Montrose council recently, expressing concerns when it comes to the potential for fires on the Antennae Trail.
Gordon McAlpine says they've seen cigarette butts on the trail, and it's so close to the community.
He says they'd like to see some no smoking and open burning signage at the trail head, similar to what they have in Trail on the Miral Heights Trail.
He's also reminding residents to be careful.
The village says they don't have authority over the trail, other than the initial piece of land at the Trail head, and suggested they approach the Regional District, and Wildfire/Firesmart BC, to help with Firesmart education along the trail.
