Public hearing coming when it comes to special needs youth

West Kootenay residents will have a chance to share their experiences and challenges with assessment and eligibility processes, and their recommendations for improvement when it comes to children and youth with neuro diverse special needs.

That includes Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and developmental delay.

The All Party Select Standing Committee on Children and Youth is holding a public hearing in Castlegar on Thursday, May 23rd, at the Sandman Hotel from 4:30-6:30pm.

The Committee wants to hear from parents, caregivers, service providers and advocates.

A report, including recommendations, is expected to be released in early Fall.
