Public hearing on recreational cannabis in Nelson this week
A public hearing was held this week on recreational cannabis in Nelson.
Only two people spoke.
Both were in favour of the City's plan to impose a moratorium on recreational cannabis businesses until the provincial regulations are passed into law.
Mayor Deb Kozak says they'll now be looking for public input.
She says it gives them time to have a broad community consultation process, and that's going to be happening in the next few weeks.
The public consultation process will help determine where the businesses can be located and how many will be permitted.
