RCMP make an arrest after a foot chase in Trail

A cat and mouse style chase in downtown Trail led to the arrest of a 35 year old man yesterday.

Police say a general duty constable was on routine patrol when he spotted a man wanted by the police for being unlawfully at large.

The suspect had failed to go to the detachment for his intermittent weekend sentence that began in early April, and there was a warrant for his arrest.

The man fled on foot leading police on a lengthy chase that started on Groutage Avenue and ended on the 13 hundred block of 2nd Avenue.

Charges are pending.
