Regional and National unemployment rates down
There was good news regionally and nationally when it comes to the unemployment rate.
In the Kootenays there were 46 hundred people looking for work for a rate of 6 percent, down from 7 and a half percent last July, where there were 12 hundred more people job hunting.
The number of people working around the region is at 72 thousand 5-hundred, up slightly from 2017
There were job increases in manufacturing and natural resources, with construction down a bit.
a four decade low for the unemployment rate nationally.
A rush of new part-time jobs offset a drop in full-time work last month to help Canada post a net gain of over 54-thousand positions, for a July jobless rate of 5.8 percent.
