Rossland City Hall will remain closed to the public for now
City Hall in Rossland will remain closed to the public at least until the end of the week.
Part of the roof collapsed over the weekend, fortunately there were no injuries.
City representatives have now met with both WorkSafe BC and a structural engineer to complete an initial structural assessment of the damage and to review the possible options available.
The front part of the hall is said to be unsafe, including the reception and recreation areas.
So at this point city hall remains closed to the public for the balance of the week.
The city expects to have more information on Friday.
The rest of the building though has been deemed structurally sound, so staff is still working.
