Small landslide in Trail last week prompts local State of Emergency
A local State of Emergency was declared last week after a small landslide on Riverside Avenue in Trail.
The landslide early Thursday morning, caused minor damage to the yard of a residence and yard structures.
The mayor declared a local State of Emergency specific to the one home to ensure the safety of the resident.
The declaration was said to be mandatory in order to evacuate the resident, and gain access to the disaster financial resources available through the provincial emergency program.
Fortunately there were no injuries in the slide.
The City says the slide area has been assessed by a landslide expert and no other homes are currently on evacuation alert.
