Teck Trail getting set for major maintenance shutdown

A major maintenance shutdown is about to get under way at Teck Trail Operations.

It's a 55 million dollar investment, the goal to ensure the continued reliability of operations, and it's focused mainly on the lead side of operations.

Teck Trail Operations Community Relations Leader Catherine Adair says expect it to be busier than normal in Trail.

The work will be done by Teck employees and approximately 800 contract employees.

She says a lot of planning goes into their major maintenance shutdown which happens every four years, and the priority is on the health and safety of employees and contractors.
