Teck Trail signs agreement with Environment and Climate Change Canada

Teck Trail Operations has signed on to meet the most stringent standards for the capture rate sulphur and particulate matter emissions nation wide.

It's part of a new agreement with Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Community Relations Leader Catherine Adair says Trail already meets and exceeds the performance agreement.

What they're working towards, and what Teck Trail is working towards is continuous improvements. The agreement they signed on to is a 95 percent sulphur capture rate, and what Trail operations is achieving is a 98 percent capture rate.

She says they capture the sulphur through the Number 1 Acid Plant, and will through the number 2 Acid Plant once complete, as well as a lot of other aspects on site.
