There was some recreation discussion at Rossland Council this week

Recreation was a topic of discussion at Rossland Council this week.

Mayor Kathy Moore says it involved the Motus Report, the consultant they hired to look at the recreation issue in Rossland.

She says there was still a divide around town about what to do, with a lot of support for maintaining the arena in some form, as a multi use building.

There was also interest in working with Trail to get access to facilities there.

Moore says while residents wanted certain things, they also didn't want more than a 3  percent tax increase, so there's a disconnect when it comes to what they want and what they're willing to pay for.

Moore says there was a lot of community participation, with 62 people at a public event, and 932 people participating in an online survey.
