Trail RCMP say unlocked vehicles are being targeted by theives
The Trail RCMP say thieves are actively targeting unlocked vehicles and their contents, after several incidents over the weekend in West Trail on Topping Street, as well as 5th avenue, and Main Street.
In one incident a 39 year old Trail residents was arrested after a stolen credit card was used, taken from an unlocked vehicle along with a ring...the man has an October Court date.
In one of the 5th Avenue incident, a neighbour spotted a suspect breaking into a vehicle and chased him off...he's described as having an average build, wearing black clothes, a black baseball hat, with his face covered.
Meanwhile on Friday, there was a motor vehicle incident between two vehicles on 2nd Avenue and Highway 3B in Trail..the driver of a black sedan, possibly an Impala failed to provide his information to the other party before leaving the scene, and RCMP are looking for the driver, or anyone with information on his identity.
Failing to exchange information can result in a $368.00 violation ticket... Criminal charges for failing to remain at the scene of an accident can also be considered.
