Volunteers needed in Grand Forks Saturday

The Kettle River Watershed Authority Coordinator says having Samaritan's Purse on the ground in Grand Forks is a big help.

Jessica Mace says they have all the safety gear, and they've been in situations like this before, so they know how to support residents, and they're willing to go into homes and help them clean up.

She says they only have a limited number of people on the ground so they rely on volunteer helping them, so they're having community clean up days.

Last weekend over 130 people showed up to help.

The next one is Saturday, June 9th.

Volunteers can register in person with the Samaritan’s Purse, set up at River Valley Community Church or online at www.samaritanspurse.ca.

Volunteers will meet at 7:30 am on Saturday at the Church, or at 1 in the afternoon.
