Work is continuing on the design phase of the Creston Community Park
The Design Phase of the Creston Community Park is well under way.
Manager of Recreation Randy Feduik says it's an exciting project that will make the outdoors as dynamic as the indoors at the Creston and District Community Complex.
A major upgrade includes a picnic/civic space, revitalized playground, the addition of pickleball courts and a multi purpose basketball court, horseshoe pits and beach volleyball courts.
At first they had just started work on the Skate Park but they got a big funding injection through the Federal Gas Tax Fund, and additional funding from the CBT.
The Design phase will develop working drawings so they can bid the project.
He says that should be done by the end of August, so they'll hopefully have bids in October.
The skatepark component of the project is farther along in the process since it was initiated before the other components and will be tendered separately sometime in the next month or so.
There are details on the RDCK's website, as well as conceptual drawings at the complex.
