A world traveler by nature, John Welsh lived and studied in Mexico and Guatemala where he was heavily influenced by the music, language and culture. After 5 years of playing and recording with various bands he and brother Chris(bass) met Nigerian born Courage Eigbike who brought his reggae and West African influenced sound. This exhibit hopes to increase awareness of the importance of wildlife corridors. This exhibit will be on display from June 8th to September 2nd.

  • The Salvation Army - Canada 150 Years Young Youth Program

    In celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, The Salvation Army presents the ‘Canada 150 Years Young Youth Program’. This will be a Readers Theatre program that promotes and encourages literacy development. Throughout July and August on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 pm - 3 pm, a group of youth will explore historical sites, people and events throughout Penticton. The program is free for youth ages 10 - 16 who will get an opportunity to express their unique view of Canada through the lens of historical Penticton facts.   • Positive Ticketing Program

    The Penticton RCMP and the South Okanagan Similkameen Brain Injury Society (SOSBIS) are teaming up again to hand out tickets to kids this summer. Last summer as the RCMP members went about their daily policing duties, they were able to hand out over 300 positive tickets with treat vouchers to youth under 12 years-old doing something good within the community. The Positive Tickets consist of a coupon, voucher, token or note that have value for goods, services, or some type of credit, to acknowledge our appreciation for positive behaviour.
