Cystic Fibrosis Walk Coming to Penticton in May
A Penticton mother who's young son has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, is organizing a walk to be held in Penticton to bring awareness, and funds to the disease.
Jodie Lemke says, a Cystic Fibrosis walk is held in Kelowna every year, and she wants to bring the idea to Penticton.
"My son who just turned eight actually has cystic fibrosis," says Lemke. "He was diganosed 2 years ago, so it's been a very interesting and tough journey as we've learned about the disease."
Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that mostly affects the lungs of children and young adults, and there currently is no cure.
Lemke is holding the event on Sunday, May 28th, where a walk will be held at Okanagan Lake Park.
