Daytime robbery at Cascades Casino parking lot in Penticton

A rather scary situation Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot on Vees Drive in Penticton.

RCMP reaching out for possible all went down yesterday at 2:30 p.m. ...when a patron at Cascades Casino called 911 to report she had just been robbed.

A silver coloured SUV, with a female in the back seat, a male driver and two children, drove up and asked the victim for money to feed the children. The two spoke at length, and money was given by the victim.

The female suspect then grabbed the victim’s rings from her fingers, and ripped off the victim’s necklace....then handed the victim a zip-lock bag containing fake gold pieces.

The victim was not physically harmed, and was able to provide a detailed statement.

The suspect was described as: Female, South Asian, with a South Asian accent, heavy build, dark skin, wearing a dark yellow tank top.

The vehicle is described as: New model Hyundai Santa Fe ...with it's believed Alberta licence plate.

If anyone witnessed any part of this occurrence, they are encouraged to contact the Penticton RCMP, 250-492-4300. Alternatively, they can call Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
