Dorcas Ladies Give Back
The South Okanagan-Similkameen Medical Foundation is celebrating another donation to their Patient Care Tower Campaign, this time from the Dorcas Ladies of the Osoyoos United Church.
John Moorehouse is with the foundation, and says the thirty thousand dollar donation is very much appreciated.
"The Osoyoos dorcas ladies have been operating a thrift shop in the basement of the Osoyoos United Church for the past 5 decades," says Moorehouse. "They donate about $50,000 a year they get from revenue from that shop."
He says with the donation, the Dorcas Ladies have gotten provincial approval to have their group's name on a patient room in the new PRH care tower now under construction.
The 20-million dollar campaign to outfit the tower with medical equipment stands at around 14 million dollars.
