An 82 year old Penticton resident drowned while fishing in Yellow Lake on Friday afternoon.
According to the RCMP, Emergency crews had been called out to the lake around 1:20 pm, to a report of an over-turned boat, and two men in the lake.
The two fishermen, who had been out in a small aluminum boat, had somehow ended up in the water, and some boaters had come to their aid.
Both men were taken back to shore, however, the 82 year old passed away.
The Penticton RCMP and the BC Coroner are investigating the incident.
Elsewhere, A man involved in a motorcycle accident last weekend has died from his injuries.
Summerland RCMP say the 47-year-old passed away on Wednesday night.
The crash happened on Sunday at Highway 97 and Bently Road in Summerland. The man was taken to Kelowna General Hospital, where he was in a medically induced coma.
Last week, a miscommunication between the hospital and the RCMP caused police to incorrectly report the man had died, when he was in fact in hospital.
Officers are still investigating the cirumstances of the single motorcycle crash.
