Help Offered for Horse Owners Affected by Flood

The Desert Park Exhibition Society in Osoyoos is reaching out to horse, mule or donkey owners in the area affected by flooding, that need a place to move their animal.

Vice-President Patty Head says, they have around 50 to 60 stalls available right now, and they won't charge for them.

"I have seen a couple of the pastures just outside Osoyoos, where horses are standing in water up to their knees," says Head. "Which is not good for the horses, and then obviously, they have nothing to eat."

She says give them a call if you're in an emergency, they only ask that you bring food and bedding and take care of your animal.

The number to call is 250-495-8181.
