Man Hospitalized, Dog Lost after Accident on Highway 97

A two car accident on Highway 97, between Okanagan Falls and Kaleden, occured on Wednesday afternoon. 

According to a news release from South Okanagan Traffic Services, a Blue Honda Civic was being followed by a Grey Toyota Tacoma.

 The Civic tried to make a U-Turn, and was struck by the Tacoma. 

Police say the 71 year old driver of the Honda was unconscious at the scene, but has since woken up. He remains in hospital with serious injuries. 

The three people in the Tacoma, meanwhile, were treated at hospital and expected to be released.. However, a dog that was in the truck fled the scene, and has not been found yet. 

The dog's name is Marley, and she's described as a friendly 1 year old pitbull, caramel in colour, with white wing markings on her chest. Marley is wearing a brown leather collar and has a tattoo on her right ear. Anyone in the area who sees Marley is asked to contact the RCMP or SPCA.
