Penticton – Emergency crews respond to vehicle that slid off into Okanagan Lake.

On March 7th, 2019, at 7:50 a.m., Penticton RCMP along with emergency crews, were dispatched to a vehicle that had slid off the highway and into Okanagan Lake, in the 1600 block of Highway 97, Penticton, BC.
It was learnt that a small white pickup truck was travelling south on Highway 97, when it slipped on the slushy road and subsequently off road. The pickup truck stopped, partially submerged in the lake.
It was confirmed the single occupant was unharmed. The driver does not face any charges.
“We want to remind the motoring public to take their time driving, especially in the early morning hours when the road tends to be more slick”, encourages Cst. James Grandy.
