Penticton Search and Rescue Holds SAR-nival

Penticton and District Search and Rescue held their fourth SAR-nival over the weekend, inviting SAR teams from around the region to participate in a skills camp in the back-country.

Randy Brown is with Penticton Search and Rescue, and says they they had 40 people in attendance, from Princeton to Vernon.

"We put people through a number of stations, from map and compass to evacuation, first aid, we had our HETS team in the area doing their annual certification, says Brown. "We also had survival skills training, rope skills, a whole full day for teams."

Brown says they also had a guest speaker, educating members about hypothermia.
