RDOS rescinds order, flushing Sun Valley Water System

The RDOS says the threat of flooding has been reduced ...and the Evacuation Alert, in the vicinity of Keremeos Creek, North and East of the Village of Keremeos in Electoral Area “G”,  has been rescinded...

With the risk of flooding reducing daily and many people back in their homes, the RDOS Emergency Operations Centre is scaling back operations.

The last day the EOC will be open to the public this Friday...

At the height of this year's flooding season, the centre was staffed by up to 35 people.

And the RDOS will be temporarily chlorinating and flushing the Sun Valley distribution system this Thursday....

The Boil Water Notice remains in effect during this time and until further notice.

If you experience dirty water, simply run your cold water taps  until the water runs clear.

People are advised to use a safe alternate source of water or to boil water for all drinking, food preparation and cooking purposes and ice making. Water should be brought to a full boil and allowed to boil for at least 1 minute.
